The cocoa cakery is dedicated to creating a unique & custom wedding cake made up of fine quality ingredients to perfectly suit the style of your day.
A tasting and consultation may be booked for $30. Should you chose to book after our consult, the $30 is deducted from your amount. Our meeting is approx 45mins long, and includes 4 cupcakes to try. If you have specific flavours you’d like to try, let us know and we’ll try to include them, however typically you are given the flavours that are popular and baked fresh that week. Should you require more flavours to try at a later date, sample boxes are available for $10 each.

Getting Started!
Wedding cake prices range from $6 to $14 per serving, based on complexity of design. This means if you expect 100 guests, please plan no less than $600 (and up to $1400 depending on design) when initially creating your budget. (Most of our wedding cakes designs come closer to $7 per serving after all considerations.) Three tier cakes start at $400.
STEP 1
We suggest you call to book your appointment about four weeks before you would like to come in. Tastings are typically held on Mon/Tues/Wed evenings at 8pm in Newmarket. Plan to come in about 5-10 months before your occasion. At your tasting, you can expect to spend some time designing your cake, discussing all the details and sample approximately four different cake flavours (sent home with you in cupcake form for private tasting).
STEP 2
Details are everything! Color swatches, pictures that you may have seen in magazines or on the internet, your invitations, flower choices from your florist, or any other personalized details (even a fabric swatch) could help us immensely in understanding your taste and in the design process; without these things it is very difficult to design a truly custom cake. So give us all you’ve got during the appointment…no detail is too small!
STEP 3
Once you’ve decided to move forward, a non-refundable $75 deposit is required to secure your event date. Final details are emailed and a contract is signed. As your wedding date approaches we will contact you just to check and see if any changes need to be made. Approximately 2 weeks prior to your wedding is when any final details need to be confirmed. Your remaining payment is due by email money transfer or cheque when the event is 7 days out.

Please note – Wedding cakes are typically delivered and set-up at your venue, pickups are not ideal based on the fragile nature of a wedding cake. We will quote a price on delivery and set-up at our consultation. We are currently not providing service outside of the GTA, our boundaries are: on the East Hyw 48, North – York Region Boundaries & West – Hwy 50. Weddings outside of those areas must be a cake of $500 minimum and will have a delivery of $150 minimum based on the distance. Thank you for your understanding!
